Muscat -Dhofar Municipality has announced that all operators of recreational activities during the Dhofar Khareef Season 2026 must obtain the necessary licences and approvals before commencing any preparations or operations.

The municipality stated that the requirement applies to all recreational activities, including electric and aerial amusement rides, as well as horse and camel rental services. Operators are also required to comply with all conditions and regulations approved by Dhofar Municipality and the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority.

According to the municipality, the regulations apply to all locations without exception, including private, leased and investment lands, as well as designated event sites across the governorate.

Authorities stressed that no activity may begin preparations or start operations before securing all required permits and official approvals from the competent authorities.

Dhofar Municipality warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators, including the closure of unlicensed activities and other penalties stipulated under applicable regulations.

The move comes as authorities intensify preparations for the upcoming Khareef season, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually to Dhofar Governorate and features a wide range of tourism, entertainment and cultural activities.
