North Batinah – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has successfully dismantled an illegal operation involved in the manufacture and trade of non-smoking chewing tobacco. In a joint effort with the Royal Oman Police, judicial officers raided a farm following reports of unauthorised activity.

During the raid, officials discovered three pieces of specialised equipment used for mixing and processing the tobacco. The seizure included a significant volume of raw and finished materials, notably 800 kilograms of Al Ghilyoon wood, 80 kilograms of tobacco ready for sale, and 20 kilograms of ground tobacco. Furthermore, inspectors found 43 kilograms of Al Shanna and 112 kilograms of Al Noorah, which are components used in the manufacturing process.

Following the discovery, the individual was apprehended, and all materials were confiscated for eventual destruction. Legal proceedings are currently underway as the case is prepared for the Public Prosecution.
