Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) have released a comprehensive set of guidelines aimed at improving road conduct for both pedestrians and motorcycle riders. Under the new “Pedestrian Responsibilities” framework, individuals are instructed to use designated crossings and obey all traffic signals. Safety measures also include ensuring the road is clear before crossing, wearing light-coloured or reflective clothing at night, and avoiding the use of electronic devices while walking.

Simultaneously, “The Responsibilities of Motorcycle Riders” have been outlined to ensure higher standards of road safety. Riders must adhere strictly to speed limits, obey all traffic rules, and give way to pedestrians at crossings. Furthermore, motorcyclists are required to remain fully attentive to the road at all times and refrain from using mobile phones or any other distractions whilst driving.
