Muscat – The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) has unveiled 13 investment opportunities in the food security sector across Musandam and Al Wusta governorates through the Tatwir platform, as part of efforts to boost agricultural production and strengthen the sultanate’s food security.
Launched under the slogan ‘Start your project today and be part of the future of Oman’, the opportunities span agriculture, livestock, fisheries and water-related activities. The initiative also seeks to expand private sector participation and support economic development in the governorates.
In Musandam, seven projects are being offered across several wilayats. In Madha, investors can establish a water purification and bottling plant and a honeybee farming project. In Bukha, the opportunity involves developing a modern fish storage and refrigeration facility to support the fisheries supply chain.
In Khasab, the proposal focuses on cultivating date palms and producing dates and traditional date syrup. Meanwhile, Dibba will host several projects, including a veterinary quarantine and laboratory for red meat, a broiler chicken production project, and an integrated aquaculture venture.

In Al Wusta, six projects are available across a combined area of about 57.3 feddans. In Mahout, the proposed projects include eggplant cultivation on 10 feddans, fodder farming on 20 feddans, and a goat and sheep breeding project on 5 feddans.
In Duqm, the opportunities include fodder cultivation on 15 feddans and greenhouse vegetable production on 5 feddans. In Haima, a 2.3 feddan agricultural nursery project is also open for investment.
The ministry said the initiative aims to attract investors and entrepreneurs to develop productive projects that enhance food security, utilise local resources and create new employment opportunities in agriculture, livestock and fisheries.
