Muscat – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) annual media briefing in Muscat, held on Wednesday to outline its operational successes for 2025 and its strategic roadmap for 2026. Salim Ali Salim al Hakmani, Chairman of CPA, announced that the Authority achieved a 100% digitisation rate for its primary services during the past year. This digital transformation has streamlined the process for submitting complaints and reports, aligning with national goals to enhance the quality of government services.

The Authority received 34,242 complaints and 6,568 reports through various channels in 2025. It successfully addressed 93% of these cases and closed 94.2% of all received complaints. Through amicable settlements, the CPA resolved 22,652 complaints and recovered more than RO7mn for consumers. Additionally, 3,595 cases were referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.

To ensure market stability and legal compliance, the CPA conducted 303,776 field inspections across 244,892 commercial establishments. These efforts resulted in the registration of 6,014 violations and the seizure of 84,410 items. The Authority’s call centre also managed over 51,000 calls, while the organisation processed more than 15,000 service-related requests. Looking ahead to 2026, the CPA plans to launch new initiatives to further improve performance and expand its service reach.
