Nizwa – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) will organise the Tamkeen Forum in Dakhliyah on April 15 as part of efforts to consolidate the tourism sector and support small and medium enterprises.
The forum will take place at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Nizwa. It is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and the National Employment Programme to enhance national employment and develop workforce capabilities in tourism.
The event will focus on training and qualification pathways in the sector, with discussions centred on equipping jobseekers with skills aligned to market needs. Sessions will also examine the role of the Tawteen platform in supporting the employment of Omani nationals across tourism-related activities.
Organisers will review challenges and opportunities in the tourism labour market and explore ways to improve coordination between government entities and private sector stakeholders to support sustainable sectoral growth.
The forum is expected to draw representatives from heritage and tourism institutions, hospitality companies, travel agencies, tour operators and tourism activity management offices.
By facilitating dialogue between policymakers and industry players, the Tamkeen Forum aims to align training programmes with labour market demands and increase the participation of national talent in the tourism economy.
The event will run from 9am to 1pm and is part of broader initiatives to expand employment opportunities and encourage private sector engagement in Oman’s tourism sector.
