Muscat – The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has announced the start of applications for permits allowing work during midday hours in the summer months for establishments engaged in essential activities.

In an announcement issued by the ministry’s Occupational Safety and Health department, companies that provide necessary services and have activities requiring work during the midday ban period may apply for special permits covering the summer months of June, July and August.

Applications will be accepted from April 1 until the end of May through the Employers’ Services Portal on the ministry’s official website. The requests must be submitted electronically and will be reviewed in accordance with occupational safety and health regulations to ensure the protection of workers. It also urged establishments to comply with all requirements and conditions and to adhere strictly to safety standards aimed at safeguarding workers from heat-related risks.
