Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has invited companies and investors to participate in an investment opportunity to establish and operate a digital ticketing platform for public transport services in Oman.

In an announcement, the ministry called on companies specialising in digital platforms and smart applications to submit proposals to design and manage an integrated electronic system for selling and managing public transport tickets through multiple digital channels.

The proposed platform aims to streamline ticketing services across Oman’s public transport network, enhancing passenger convenience while improving operational efficiency. The initiative also supports the ongoing digital transformation of the transport sector.

According to the ministry, the system will provide integrated management of ticket sales and transport services, enabling users to access transport options more easily while supporting decision-making through advanced digital solutions and data-driven tools.

Tender documents will be available for purchase until May 10, while the deadline for submitting proposals is July 5.

The initiative reflects the ministry’s continued efforts to modernise public transport, strengthen digital infrastructure and improve mobility solutions.

Meanwhile, the ministry stressed that strict adherence to the Land Transport Law and its regulations is essential to ensuring public safety, protecting individual rights and maintaining an organised and sustainable transport sector.

In a statement, the ministry urged operators and drivers to fully comply with existing regulations, noting that commitment to the law enhances safety standards and safeguards the rights.
