Muscat – The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has warned the public about a fraudulent website impersonating its official online portal in an attempt to steal personal and financial information.
In a statement, the ROP said the malicious platform is designed to mislead Web users by posing as an official digital service, with the aim of carrying out financial fraud and unlawfully obtaining sensitive data. The deceptive website imitates the appearance of legitimate government services in order to trick users into entering confidential information.
Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant when accessing online services and to ensure that any links or websites claiming to represent the police are authentic before interacting with them.
The ROP stressed that individuals should use only the official and verified digital channels of the force when conducting transactions or accessing services.
Members of the public were also strongly advised not to share personal identification or banking details on unverified websites, warning that such information could be exploited in organised attempts at data theft and financial fraud.
