Middle East – Several Gulf nations have confirmed the successful interception of a series of drone and missile strikes over the past 24 hours as regional tensions continue to impact the area. The Saudi Ministry of Defence announced the destruction of 10 unmanned aerial vehicles on Sunday, following the neutralisation of two additional drones on Saturday. Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki confirmed that these operations were part of a concentrated effort to safeguard national airspace against ongoing threats.
In Kuwait, the Ministry of Defence reported that its air defence systems successfully engaged hostile missiles and drones. Spokesman Saud Al Atwan clarified that any audible explosions were the direct result of these defensive interceptions. Simultaneously, the Kuwaiti National Guard’s Task Force downed four drones within their designated security zones. National Guard spokesperson Jada’an Fadel emphasised that these actions are essential for protecting vital infrastructure and maintaining public safety against potential incursions.
The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence also confirmed that its air defence units engaged incoming ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones originating from Iran. Authorities stated that the sounds heard in various regions across the Emirates were produced by the activation of defence systems managing these aerial targets. All involved nations have reiterated their commitment to regional security and the protection of their sovereign territories during this period of heightened military activity.
