Muscat – The National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) is continuing intensive efforts to address the impact of the prevailing weather conditions, as part of its ongoing response to ensure public safety and maintain essential services.

The basic services sector (roads) reported on Saturday that several roads became impassable in a number of governorates due to wadi flows and rising water levels.

In South Batinah, the Al Hawqain–Al Haymili and Wadi Bani Awf roads were affected. In North Sharqiyah, disruptions were reported on the Mahlah–Al Jardah, Izki–Sinaw, Adam–Sinaw, Mudhaibi–Sinaw, Mudhaibi–Ibra and Haimah–Mahlah roads.

In Dakhliyah, the Matan–Fahud, Adam–Sinaw and Izki–Nizwa roads were impacted. Buraimi recorded closures on the Hafit–Sa’a and Sa’a–Qumayrah roads.

In North Batinah, affected routes included Wadi Omar, Wadi Al Hawasinah, Suhar–Haybi, Al Fay–Al Wajajah and Wadi Shaban. The Al Zamim–Mahout road in Al Wusta was also affected.

In Dhahirah, the Yanqul–Suhar, Yanqul–Qamira–Sa’a and Yanqul–Fada–Dhank roads were impacted, in addition to Sultan Thuwaini bin Said Road and the Tanam–Hamra Ad’Duru road.

NCEM warned of a partial collapse on the Kahl–Al Samini road in the wilayat of Mahdah due to flash floods, urging motorists to exercise caution, while specialised teams carry out repairs.

The search and rescue sector continued field operations, with civil defence and ambulance teams in Al Buraimi responding to reports of residents trapped in their homes as water levels rose.

Authorities confirmed continued readiness to deal with developments in the weather situation and urged the public to adhere to official instructions and follow updates to ensure safety.
