Muscat – The National Committee for Emergency Management has released an official update regarding the status of shelter and relief operations across the governorates currently affected by the Al Massarat low-pressure system. Authorities have activated several facilities to accommodate individuals whose homes have been impacted by the ongoing weather conditions. These efforts are part of a coordinated national response to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens and residents in the most vulnerable areas.
In the Musandam Governorate, a shelter centre has been activated to support 23 individuals following the impact of the weather on the village of Qadi in the Wilayat of Khasab. Similar relief measures have been implemented in the South Batinah and Muscat Governorates, where families consisting of 5 and 4 members respectively have been successfully relocated to hotel accommodations after their homes were affected. Furthermore, in the Dakhliyah Governorate, the shelter centre in the Wilayat of Adam continues its operations, currently providing precautionary housing for sixty-one individuals.
The committee remains in a state of high readiness, monitoring the situation across all affected regions to provide immediate assistance where necessary. These proactive steps reflect the Sultanate’s commitment to protecting lives during natural crises. Emergency services continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and follow official guidance as the weather system moves through the region.
