Muscat – Civil Aviation Authority has issued an urgent weather alert regarding a period of significant atmospheric instability. Intense thunderstorms are expected to impact a wide range of governorates across the Sultanate. This alert is specifically active from 08:00 am until 10:00 pm, during which time heavy precipitation and challenging weather conditions are forecast to prevail.

The authority has indicated that the weather system will likely lead to the sudden flow of wadis and flash floods, particularly in mountainous and low-lying areas. In addition to heavy rain, the forecast includes active downward winds and the potential for hail, which may cause temporary reductions in horizontal visibility. The regions anticipated to be affected by these conditions include Musandam, Buraimi, North Batinah, South Batinah, Muscat, Dakhliyah, Dhahirah, North Sharqiyah, South Sharqiyah, and Al Wusta.

Members of the public are strongly advised to exercise maximum caution and to avoid crossing valley streams during periods of flow.
