Muscat – Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) launched the Omani Women Investors Club on Sunday to encourage more women to participate in financial markets, enhance investment knowledge and expand opportunities for women-led investments.

The launch coincided with the celebration of Omani Women’s Day, held under the patronage of H E Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al Farouji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. The occasion was marked by the ringing of the MSX bell to signal the club’s launch.

Haitham bin Salem Al Salmi, CEO of MSX, said the initiative was a strategic step towards building a more inclusive and diversified capital market.

“Through this initiative, the stock exchange is working to create an integrated system that links knowledge with opportunities, enhances confidence and active participation, and opens new paths for Omani women to contribute to investment decision-making and wealth development,” he said.

Al Salmi said the club would support the expansion of the investor base, deepen the market and contribute to sustainable economic growth, in line with the objectives of Vision 2040.

Areej bint Mohsen Haider Darwish, president of new club, said greater participation in investment begins with knowledge and requires access to opportunities.

She described the club as a platform for building a network of women investors and leaders, exchanging expertise and developing strategic partnerships.

The club aims to improve financial and investment literacy, build women’s confidence in making investment decisions and increase their participation in financial markets. It also seeks to strengthen women’s representation in leadership and investment decision-making roles and encourage long-term wealth creation.

According to MSX, the initiative will promote cooperation and knowledge-sharing while supporting the growth and sustainability of women-led investments in Oman and beyond.
