Muscat – The ICAI Muscat (Oman) Chapter, under the sponsorship of the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS), is pleased to announce MAITRI 2026 – its flagship 16th International Seminar & AI Summit, scheduled for 30–31 October 2026 at the Sheraton Oman Hotel, Muscat.

CBFS plays a pivotal role in enabling the professional development and community engagement initiatives of the Chapter, reinforcing its position as a national hub for professional development, executive education, and knowledge advancement in the financial sector. Through such strategic collaborations, CBFS continues to facilitate high-quality knowledge exchange platforms, strengthen industry-relevant competencies, support the development of future-ready finance professionals and contribute to the broader knowledge economy and professional ecosystem in Oman.

The theme, “Mapping Artificial Intelligence to Transform & Redefine Industry,” reflects the Chapter’s commitment to fostering innovation, professional excellence and meaningful collaboration between business, technology and finance. The name MAITRI, meaning friendship, draws inspiration from the enduring relationship between India and Oman. During his historic visit to Oman in December 2025, Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of MAITRI, describing it through six pillars: Maritime Heritage, Aspirations, Innovation, Trust and Technology, Respect, and Inclusive Growth.

Building upon this spirit, the Chapter has adopted MAITRI as “Mapping Artificial Intelligence to Transform & Redefine Industry,” symbolising the convergence of technological advancement, professional transformation and India–Oman cooperation.

The conference also assumes special significance following the landmark India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed in December 2025 and effective from 1 June 2026, opening new opportunities for bilateral trade, investment and professional collaboration.

The two-day event will feature distinct programs:

• Day 1 (Friday, 30 October): The 1st International AI Summit, focusing on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, innovation, cybersecurity and the future of work.
• Day 2 (Saturday, 31 October): Global Finance & Corporate Strategy, addressing corporate governance, sustainability, leadership, evolving business models, financial strategy and emerging economic opportunities.

The event is expected to welcome distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Shri Prashant Pise, Ambassador of India to Oman; H.E. Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dr. Zahran Salim Al Salti, Dean of CBFS; and senior ICAI leadership, including its President, Vice-President and Past President.
