Salalah – Earthquake Monitoring Center at Sultan Qaboos University recorded a light earth tremor measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale in the wilayat of Sadah, Dhofar Governorate.

The seismic event occurred at 09:57 am local time on August 23. According to the official earthquake report, the tremor struck at a depth of 2 km and was located 133 km northeast of Salalah. Oman seismic stations continuously monitor activity across the region to provide precise data on local seismic movements.
