Muscat – Sur Industrial City signed six investment agreements worth more than RO56mn in the first half of 2026, covering projects in tourism, energy, gas, telecommunications and food production.
Spread over more than 60,000sqm, the projects come as cumulative investment in the industrial city reached RO2.3bn by the end of June, according to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn).
Nasser bin Hamoud Al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, said the facility currently employs 1,843 workers, including 1,076 Omanis.
“Madayn is preparing to implement several key projects in Sur Industrial City,” Al Mabsali said.
These include maintenance of Wadi Crossing No 6, extension of irrigation water to the Green Belt area and infrastructure development for a ship docking zone serving the shipbuilding and maintenance industry.
In the first half of the year, detailed designs for the ship docking facility were completed, along with the general and detailed design of the city’s master plan.
Additionally, trial operations have begun at the Sur-1 solar power plant.
According to Al Mabsali, the industrial city is focused on improving infrastructure, attracting investment and supporting economic diversification in line with Vision 2040.

Sur Industrial City has also launched a competition as part of Madayn’s efforts to improve institutional performance and support sustainable growth.
The city is preparing to offer new investment opportunities in training, healthcare, quarry operations and labour accommodation, Al Mabsali added.
