South Batinah – Consumer Protection Authority in South Batinah reached an amicable settlement between a consumer and a local establishment specialising in the sale and crafting of gold jewellery.

The dispute arose after the consumer contracted the shop to design a custom gold piece according to specific agreed specifications, handing over a 28-gram gold necklace valued at RO 1,160 to be included in the creation.

Upon execution, the consumer discovered that the finished item did not match the agreed details. Consequently, the department intervened and mediated an agreement under which the design order was cancelled and the full value of the gold item was refunded to the consumer.
