Muscat – The International Criminal Police Organization, known as Interpol, has commended the efforts of the Royal Oman Police, represented by Interpol Muscat, for successfully dismantling a criminal network involved in human trafficking and drug smuggling.

The operation began when police in Zimbabwe alerted international counterparts about a victim lured to Oman under the false pretense of employment.

During transit, the victim was intercepted and forced to swallow drug-filled capsules to smuggle narcotics internationally. Following a swift investigation in Oman backed by Interpol support, authorities arrested four individuals, seized illegal drugs, and safely rescued the victim.
