Muscat – Royal Hospital has responded to reports circulating on social media regarding a female patient suffering from Hereditary Coproporphyria (HCP), a rare genetic disorder requiring specialized healthcare and continuous medical monitoring.

The hospital clarified that the patient has been receiving medical care and a specialised treatment plan for a long period under agreed clinical protocols. However, her sudden departure from the Sultanate without prior notice led to the interruption of this plan.

The hospital confirmed that while the requested treatment is currently available, dosage timing relies on clinical evaluation and vital indicators, emphasizing that any delay stems from her medical condition rather than a lack of medicine.
