Muscat – In recognition of his longstanding humanitarian service and dedication to the welfare of overseas Pakistanis, Syedzada Shaandar Ali Shah Bukhari, Director Welfare Interim Committee of the Pakistan Social Club, Sultanate of Oman, has been appointed as Advisor to the Chairman, Board of Governors (BoG), Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Government of Pakistan.

The appointment was formalized through an official notification issued by Muhammad Mustafa Haider, Director General (Welfare), Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, on behalf of the Foundation.

According to the appointment letter, Bukhari will serve as a liaison between the Chairman, Board of Governors, OPF, and the Pakistani community in the Sultanate of Oman. His responsibilities include facilitating communication, coordinating community matters, and assisting in the prompt resolution of issues faced by overseas Pakistanis residing in Oman.

The appointment recognizes Bukhari’s years of dedicated community service and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Pakistani diaspora. Widely respected for his humanitarian initiatives, he has played a significant role in supporting distressed Pakistanis in Oman, including facilitating prisoner repatriation, assisting vulnerable workers, organizing blood donation campaigns, leading Ramadan food distribution drives, and providing emergency welfare assistance to members of the community. Mr. Bukhari’s extensive grassroots experience and close community engagement will strengthen coordination between OPF and overseas Pakistanis while enhancing welfare service delivery.

Speaking after the appointment, Syedzada Shaandar Ali Shah Bukhari expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and the leadership of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation for placing their trust in him. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Pakistani community in Oman with sincerity, dedication, and impartiality, while working to strengthen the relationship between overseas Pakistanis and the Government of Pakistan. Soon, Bukhari will form an Advisory Council from Oman, comprising select members from the Pakistani diaspora representing their prefecture. He will propose their names to the OPF Board for approval.

The appointment is expected to further enhance collaboration between the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation and the Pakistani community in Oman, ensuring that the concerns of overseas Pakistanis are effectively represented and addressed through an organized, responsive, and community-focused mechanism.
