Colombia – The United Nations Security Council recently witnessed a heated diplomatic exchange between the United States and China regarding regional stability in the Middle East.

US Ambassador Mike Waltz accused certain Chinese entities of violating United Nations resolutions by supplying Iran and the Houthis with dual-use goods and satellite imagery that could be utilised for military purposes.

In response, Chinese Ambassador Sun Lei dismissed these allegations as entirely baseless, asserting that China maintains strict control over its exports. Ambassador Sun further criticised recent major US military attacks against Iran, warning that such actions have pushed the region toward a dangerous precipice and urging the United States to cease creating new conflicts.
