Shusha, Azerbaijan – The Ministry of Information, represented by Oman News Agency (ONA), has signed a memorandum of Understanding with the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) to enhance cooperation in news and information exchange.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Shusha Global Media Forum in Azerbaijan. Ibrahim bin Salim Al Salmi, Director General and Editor-in-Chief of ONA, signed on behalf of Oman, while Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the board of AZERTAC, represented the Azerbaijani side.

The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the two national news agencies by expanding the exchange of news reports, bulletins and editorial content in both Arabic and English.

It also provides for cooperation in sharing technical expertise related to news transmission and reception systems, while enabling both agencies to utilise each other’s news content in accordance with their editorial policies.

The agreement includes measures to facilitate the work of journalists and representatives of both agencies and promotes the exchange of training programmes, expert visits and specialised media research.

Officials said the partnership will help enhance institutional cooperation, support the exchange of expertise and contribute to the development of media capabilities in both countries.
