Sohar University has launched its Summer Programme for School Students, offering a range of educational, training and recreational activities aimed at helping young learners develop new skills during the school holidays.

The programme, which began on July 5 under the patronage of Ali Al Maqbali, Director of Financial Affairs at Sohar University, will continue until July 23. The launch ceremony was attended by members of the university’s academic and administrative staff, along with participating students and their parents.

Open to students from Grades 5 to 12, the programme features a variety of activities designed to meet the needs of different age groups through an engaging and interactive learning environment.

Participants are receiving training in English, mathematics and computer skills, alongside specialised workshops on artificial intelligence (AI) and health and safety. The courses are intended to enhance students’ academic knowledge while developing practical, technical and personal skills relevant to today’s rapidly evolving world.

Sohar University said the initiative forms part of its annual efforts to encourage productive use of the summer break by providing high-quality educational opportunities that nurture talent, promote creativity and foster a culture of lifelong learning.

The university added that the programme reflects its commitment to community engagement through educational initiatives that help prepare a skilled and innovative generation. It also supports the goals of Oman Vision 2040 by contributing to human capital development and strengthening partnerships with educational and community institutions.
