Muscat – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) have successfully seized a commercial establishment in Muscat following an intensive investigation and surveillance operation. Officials identified that the establishment was incorporating materials that had expired several years ago into its production processes.
These expired components were repackaged into containers bearing recent dates, a deceptive practice intended to mislead consumers regarding the safety and validity of the goods. The operation resulted in the immediate confiscation of over 100 expired containers to prevent their distribution within the local market. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the violating establishment, which has also been issued a financial penalty of RO4000.
