Muscat – The 21 Indian crew members of the Palau-flagged vessel MT Settebello are returning home safely following a distressing maritime incident. The vessel was situated approximately 30 nautical miles off the coast of Sohar, Oman, when it came under attack.

Upon notification of the emergency, the Oman Maritime Security Centre was informed immediately, prompting the deployment of relevant Omani authorities for comprehensive search and rescue operations. While the rescue mission successfully secured the lives of the twenty-one Indian nationals, the incident resulted in the tragic loss of three seafarers.

Prior to their departure, the Indian Ambassador interacted with the crew members, expressing appreciation for their resilience during this difficult period and conveying best wishes for their journey home.
