Muscat – Oman’s Hajj Mission has been awarded the silver prize in the ‘Labaytum’ Excellence Award for Services to Pilgrims, recognising its outstanding performance in delivering services to Omani pilgrims during this year’s hajj.
The annual Labaytum Award, organised by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, recognises government and private entities that excel in serving pilgrims through high-quality services, compliance with regulations and strong pilgrim satisfaction levels during the haj and umrah seasons.
The recognition reflects the Omani mission’s success in maintaining high standards across several key performance indicators, including field services, pilgrim guidance and awareness programmes, crowd movement management, adherence to health and organisational regulations, and the implementation of innovative initiatives that enhanced the overall pilgrimage experience.
H E Ahmed bin Saleh Al Rashdi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and Head of Oman’s Hajj Mission, described the achievement as a testament to the collective efforts of the mission’s various teams and delegations. “This accomplishment reflects Oman’s commitment to providing the highest standards of service to its pilgrims and ensuring a smooth and spiritually enriching hajj journey,” he said.
H E Al Rashdi noted that the award serves as an incentive to continue improving and innovating within the hajj services system to further enhance the experience of Omani pilgrims and facilitate the performance of rituals with greater ease and comfort.
He added that the achievement was made possible through close coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia, praising the efforts of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and service providers in continuously developing the hajj ecosystem and improving services for pilgrims.
H E Al Rashdi said the Oman’s Hajj Mission aims to expand its qualitative initiatives, strengthen digital transformation efforts and further develop the capabilities of its workforce.
