11 May 2026

Muscat – Seeb Stars retained the Oman Cricket Veterans League title after defeating Muscat Capitals in a dramatic super over following a thrilling tied final at the Oman Cricket Academy Grounds.

Defending 146/6, Seeb Stars looked set for victory after reducing Muscat Capitals to five wickets down inside 10 overs before Hemal Mehta produced a stunning counterattack with 72 off 39 balls, including three sixes in the final over, to level the scores and force a super over.

Muscat Capitals managed 11 runs in the super over, but Seeb Stars chased it down confidently with Prashanth Chandran striking a six off the opening ball to send them on their way.

The tournament, comprising six teams, brought together 99 players aged 45 and above, all of whom are no longer active in the domestic circuit, rekindling old rivalries and friendships through the spirit of the game.

The Oman Cricket Veterans League 2026 stood as a celebration of both compassion and competition — highlighting not only the competitive edge that still burns within these players, but also the camaraderie, respect, and lifelong friendships that cricket continues to foster.
