Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Abdul Fattahel Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt discussed ongoing regional developments and the political and economic ramifications of these on Wednesday.

During a telephone conversation, the two leaders stressed the importance of intensifying political and diplomatic efforts to steer US-Iranian negotiations towards a resolution of the crisis, achieve de-escalation and ensure the security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This, they affirmed, would support the consolidation of international peace and security in accordance with the principles of the international law.
