Dhofar – Dhofar Municipality has officially recorded an incident involving the collapse of a children’s amusement ride at a private entertainment centre. In response to this event and with the primary goal of ensuring the safety of all visitors, the municipality has taken immediate and decisive action by ordering the complete closure of the site. This measure serves to prevent further risks while authorities conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the failure.

The municipality has launched a comprehensive technical inspection of all rides within the facility to assess their structural and mechanical integrity. This process includes a detailed evaluation of current safety levels to ensure they align strictly with approved national standards. To facilitate this, a specialised technical team has been appointed to perform a rigorous assessment of all equipment and facilities before any decision regarding the resumption of operations is considered.

Furthermore, Dhofar Municipality has announced that a wide-scale evaluation will be extended to all private entertainment establishments that operate electric games throughout the region. This proactive approach aims to verify that all leisure facilities maintain high standards of safety and maintenance. The municipality emphasised the necessity for all private operators to adhere strictly to the security and safety procedures approved by the relevant authorities to protect the wellbeing of the public.
