Suwaiq – North Batinah Municipality has conducted a comprehensive inspection campaign targeting food establishments in the Wilayat of Suwaiq to ensure strict adherence to established health and safety regulations. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen health monitoring and protect the community from the risks associated with improper food storage and handling. During the operation, municipal inspectors identified significant violations regarding the quality and validity of food items intended for public consumption.

The campaign resulted in the immediate seizure and destruction of over two tonnes of expired rice, specifically weighing 2,146 kg. Additionally, authorities disposed of 84 kg of meat and seafood skewers, alongside 25 kg of burger meat that failed to meet health standards. Consequently, the municipality has initiated legal proceedings against the offenders and ordered the immediate closure of the non-compliant facility.
