Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a formal warning regarding a sophisticated fraudulent scheme operating on the Instagram platform. Criminals are reportedly creating fake profiles and impersonating established insurance companies to deceive individuals who are seeking to insure their property. These perpetrators aim to illegally obtain money by presenting themselves as legitimate service providers within the Sultanate.

In response to these activities, the ROP has advised the public to exercise extreme caution when interacting with digital accounts. It is essential for individuals to avoid disclosing any personal or banking information to unverified sources. Furthermore, the authorities strongly recommend that no payments be made until the credibility of the electronic accounts belonging to these organisations and companies has been thoroughly verified.
