Muscat – His Majesty Haitham bin Tarik on Tuesday issued Royal Decree No 44/2026, amending certain provisions of Royal Decree No 6/2006 on the establishment of the Oman Botanic Garden.
Article 1 stipulates that the area defined in the map attached to the decree will be designated as a nature reserve under the name Oman Botanic Garden, under the jurisdiction of Muscat Governorate and administered by Muscat Municipality.
Under Article 3, the Chairman of Muscat Municipality will exercise the powers stipulated in the Law on Nature Reserves and Wildlife Conservation issued by Royal Decree No 6/2003 with regard to the Oman Botanic Garden Reserve. The Chairman will also issue the implementing regulations and decisions related to the decree in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Article 2 states that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force from the date of its issuance.
