Muscat – In a major security breakthrough, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has dismantled an international criminal network involved in the manufacture and smuggling of narcotic substances in Muscat, seizing drugs with an estimated market value of more than RO1.3mn.
The ROP said the operation led to the arrest of several members of the transnational network following extensive investigations and coordinated intelligence efforts aimed at tracking and disrupting the group’s activities.
Authorities confirmed that the seized narcotics were intended for trafficking and distribution through illegal channels, posing a serious threat to public safety and social stability.
The successful operation forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Oman Police to combat organised crime and curb drug trafficking networks operating across borders.

The ROP reiterated its firm commitment to protecting society from the dangers of narcotics and strengthening national security, stressing that security agencies will continue to pursue drug traffickers and dismantle networks attempting to target the sultanate.
The police also called on the public to cooperate with the authorities and report any suspicious activities that may endanger the safety and wellbeing of the community.
