Muscat – The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) will hold its annual media briefing on Tuesday to showcase key achievements and initiatives across sectors under its regulation, including electricity, water and wastewater services, sustainable energy projects and natural gas transportation in Oman.
The authority will also outline efforts aimed at strengthening the protection of subscribers’ rights and interests, as well as programmes focused on developing the national workforce in essential services sectors.
During the briefing, the APSR will present major projects completed under the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan, highlighting their role in improving service efficiency, reliability and infrastructure performance.
The authority will also unveil a number of future projects planned for the Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan. These initiatives will focus on enhancing regulatory frameworks, improving operational efficiency, accelerating the transition to sustainable energy and empowering national talent in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The briefing will further feature presentations on key operational and technical projects being implemented by companies regulated by the APSR. These include infrastructure expansion, network modernisation and initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and the quality of services provided to subscribers, alongside programmes to promote localisation and strengthen the readiness of Omani talent in vital sectors.

Dr Mansour bin Talib Al Hinai, chairman of the APSR, said the annual media briefing represents an important platform to present the authority’s achievements and outline its future directions.
He noted that the authority follows a comprehensive regulatory approach based on efficiency, innovation and sustainability, aimed at enhancing the reliability and quality of services while safeguarding the rights and interests of subscribers.
Al Hinai added that the authority continues to develop its regulatory tools and strengthen legislative and oversight frameworks, contributing to improved service quality, increased investment in regulated sectors and wider adoption of advanced technological and innovative solutions, while supporting the development of national talent in essential services.
