Muscat – Mwasalat has released a formal notice regarding the suspension of several bus services in response to alerts issued by relevant authorities concerning the current weather conditions. These measures have been implemented to prioritise the safety and comfort of all passengers. For Thursday, 26 March 2026, the operator has confirmed that specific city routes in Muscat, including Route 6, Route 7, Route 9, and Route 10, will remain suspended. These routes typically serve key areas such as Al Khoud, Sultan Qaboos University, Mabela, Burj Al Sahwa, and the Misfah Industrial Area.
In addition to local services, intercity transport has also been significantly affected. Mwasalat has announced the cancellation of Route 52 connecting Muscat to Duqm, Route 53 between Muscat, Ibri, and Buraimi, and Route 103, which serves Muscat, Haima, and Duqm. While these land-based services face disruptions, the ferry service between Shannah and Masirah is currently scheduled to continue operations. The transport company is working in close coordination with emergency authorities to evaluate the remaining network and will provide direct notifications through its contact centre should further directives necessitate more closures.
