Muscat – Administration of the Central Fish Wholesale Market has officially announced a temporary suspension of operations in observance of the blessed Eid al-Fitr. Market activities will be paused for a period of four days, beginning on Thursday, March 19, and continuing through to Sunday, March 22. Regular business operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, March 23. This scheduled break allows for the observance of the national holiday while providing clear timelines for traders and stakeholders within the fisheries sector.
During this holiday period, the administration has clarified that exporters may continue the direct export of permitted fish species in accordance with established percentages. However, the export of prohibited species remains strictly forbidden, as per the weight and value requirements outlined in Ministerial Decision No. 75/2019 regarding the regulation of fish exports from the Sultanate.
