Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a telephone call from President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran on Wednesday.

During the call, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and discussed recent regional developments and efforts to reduce escalation.

His Majesty reaffirmed Oman’s neutral stance and expressed the sultanate’s dissatisfaction and condemnation of the continued targeting of its territory, stressing that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard its security and stability.

Both sides emphasised the need to halt escalation and prioritise dialogue and diplomacy to spare the region the consequences of war and preserve stability.
