Muscat –  His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Thursday issued Royal Decree No. 37/2026 establishing the Youth Centre and promulgating its governing system.

Under Article (1), a centre named “The Youth Centre” will be established with legal personality and full financial and administrative autonomy. The Centre will operate under the supervision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, in accordance with the provisions of the system attached to the decree.

Article (2) stipulates that all allocations, rights, obligations and assets related to the Youth Centre Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth will be transferred to the newly established Youth Centre.

Article (3) provides that amendments to the Youth Centre’s system may be made by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, subject to the approval of the Council of Ministers.

Pursuant to Article (4), the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Youth Centre shall issue the regulations and decisions necessary to implement the provisions of the decree, following the approval of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.

Article (5) cancels any provisions that contradict this decree or the attached system.

Article (6) states that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force from the date of its issuance.
