25 Feb 2026 Nikon Middle East and Khimji Ramdas launch Nikon ZR

Muscat – Nikon Middle East and Khimji Ramdas hosted a memorable evening at VOX Cinemas, Mall of Oman, to unveil the revolutionary Nikon ZR, an innovative addition to Nikon’s Z Cinema camera lineup, developed in collaboration with RED Digital Cinema.

The event, titled “Nikon ZR Premier,” celebrated the remarkable capabilities of the Nikon ZR, showcasing its potential to redefine storytelling through film. Media professionals, photographers, videographers, creative partners, and content creators, invited to the event, had the opportunity to experience the camera firsthand.

The Nikon ZR marks the beginning of a transformative era in filmmaking innovation. Featuring a full-frame sensor and R3D NE RAW recording format – a dedicated codec developed for Nikon cameras to record video in R3D – the ZR delivers astounding specifications such as up to 6K/59.94p recording, over 15 stops of dynamic range, and dual base ISO options at 800 and 6400 for superior image output in various lighting conditions.

It also sets a global precedent as the first full-frame camera capable of 32-bit float audio recording, offering premium-quality sound capture powered by its built-in OZO Audio system. Paired with advanced subject-detection autofocus, a high-bright DCI-P3 monitor measuring 4 inches, and a lightweight 540 g design, the Nikon ZR places advanced cinematic tools into an ultra-portable form factor.

Narendra Menon, Managing Director of Nikon Middle East & Africa, who was present at the event said, “ZR is a very new product into the entire lineup of Nikon cameras. This is the first camera from Nikon which has the R3d technology of RED for videography, which is quite revolutionary.” He emphasized that the launch was held in VOX Cinema to highlight the cinematic features of the Nikon ZR.

By seamlessly blending Nikon’s trusted camera technology with RED’s renowned expertise in color science and cinema codecs, the ZR provides professional-grade filmmaking potential within a user-friendly design. This breakthrough enables emerging filmmakers, content creators, and industry professionals to craft their stories in the finest format.

Hritik Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas LLC, commented: “We are thrilled to launch the Nikon ZR in Oman. The Nikon ZR is one of the most groundbreaking compact cinema cameras ever made! It’s lightweight, powerful, and packed with professional-grade features, making it a top choice for filmmakers who need high-quality big-screen results in a dynamic and demanding environment.”
