Muscat – Passenger traffic through Oman’s airports rose 2.8% in 2025 to 14,939,209, compared to 14,537,674 in 2024, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The total number of incoming and outgoing flights reached 104,510 by the end of December 2025, down 2.8% from 107,546 flights recorded in 2024.

At Muscat International Airport, international flights decreased 4.5% to 82,913 in 2025 from 86,797 a year earlier. However, international passenger numbers increased 1.3% to 11,838,223, compared to 11,681,790 in 2024.

Domestic traffic at Muscat recorded stronger growth. The number of domestic flights rose 6.6% to 9,606, while domestic passenger numbers increased 12% to 1,319,336 from 1,178,163.

Salalah Airport handled 4,886 international flights in 2025, a decrease of 2.4% from 5,008 in 2024. International passenger numbers remained stable at 678,591, compared to 678,402 the previous year.

Domestic operations at Salalah expanded, with flights increasing 14.3% to 6,227 from 5,450. Passenger numbers grew 17.7% to 1,023,529, compared to 869,954 in 2024.

Suhar Airport recorded a sharp drop in international traffic. Flights fell 77.8% to 110 from 495, while international passenger numbers decreased 99.1% to 390 from 44,897. Domestic flights decreased 9.1% to 150, with passenger numbers down 21.8% to 18,247.

At Duqm Airport, domestic flights totalled 618 in 2025, slightly lower than 622 in 2024. Passenger numbers stood at 60,893, compared to 61,137 the previous year.

NCSI said the indicators reflect continued movement through Oman’s airports and their role in supporting economic and tourism activity, as well as strengthening domestic and international connectivity.
