Muscat – H E Dr Saud bin Hamoud bin Ahmed al Habsi, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, held high-level discussions on Wednesday with Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz al Saud, the Executive Director of the International Dates Council. The meeting, held in Muscat, focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring joint initiatives within the dates sector.

The visiting delegation and Omani officials addressed the strategic significance of dates as a primary pillar for food security and national economic development. Both parties highlighted the importance of enhancing the existing partnership and leveraging international expertise to modernise the industry.

During the exchange, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Council to foster sustainable growth. These efforts aim to achieve shared goals that bolster the economic viability of the sector while ensuring long-term agricultural sustainability in the Sultanate of Oman.
