US Justice Department releases three million pages of Epstein files

1 Feb 2026 US Justice Department releases three million pages of Epstein files By OUR CORRESPONDENT

USA – The United States Department of Justice has released a massive cache of documents related to the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, totalling approximately 3 mn pages. The disclosure, made on Friday, includes over 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, marking the most significant release of information since the Epstein Files Transparency Act was signed into law.

The newly published materials provide further insight into Epstein’s extensive social network and his interactions with high-profile figures. Amongst the records are email exchanges involving Prince Andrew, formerly the Duke of York, which suggest a continued association after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. The files indicate that the Prince may have invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace following his release from house arrest, seemingly contradicting previous assertions regarding the termination of their friendship.

Other prominent names appearing in the documents include former presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, as well as business figures such as Elon Musk and Bill Gates. The files contain a draft indictment from 2007 which suggests that federal prosecutors were considering charges against Epstein and three of his associates much earlier than previously known. However, many of the documents remain heavily redacted to protect the identities of survivors and the integrity of ongoing investigations.

Despite the scale of the release, some lawmakers and survivors’ advocates have criticised the Department of Justice for withholding nearly half of the identified records. Critics argue that the heavy redactions and delays in publication continue to shield powerful individuals from full public accountability. The release follows months of political pressure to provide transparency regarding the government’s handling of the Epstein investigation over the past two decades.
