Muscat – Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by the Omani–Turkish Joint Business Council, will host the Oman International Expo and Forum – OMNEX 2026 – on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together policymakers, investors and business leaders from Oman and abroad.

Running till February 4, the event will see wide local and international participation, with Türkiye attending as Guest of Honour in a move that underscores growing economic cooperation and support for initiatives aimed at stimulating investment and strengthening trade partnerships.

The forum will feature specialised investment sessions, workshops and bilateral meetings designed to connect decision-makers with private sector leaders. A parallel exhibition will showcase Omani, Turkish and international products and services, alongside cultural and artistic programmes reflecting the heritage and shared history of the two countries.

OMNEX 2026 will spotlight a broad range of strategic sectors, including trade and investment, industry, energy and mining, tourism and heritage, technology and innovation, transport and services, education and health, youth and sports, as well as agriculture and fisheries – all key elements of Oman’s economic diversification drive.

Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI, said organising the expo and forum aligns with the chamber’s efforts to empower the private sector and reinforce its role as a partner in economic development. He noted that the platform is intended to open new investment horizons and deepen partnerships locally and internationally, in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Salem bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Omani side of the Omani–Turkish Joint Business Council, said the event offers genuine investment opportunities in promising sectors central to the national economy. He described OMNEX 2026 as an important step in advancing Oman–Türkiye economic relations and expanding cooperation into more diverse areas.

He added that Türkiye’s selection as Guest of Honour reflects the strength of bilateral ties and is expected to facilitate greater exchange of expertise and the formation of strategic partnerships between the business communities of the two countries.
