Muscat – Oman has officially expressed its support for the diplomatic efforts spearheaded by US President Donald Trump to secure a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Oman welcomed the initiatives aimed at implementing the United Nations Security Council’s peace plan under Resolution 2803. The Sultanate emphasised that these efforts are crucial for upholding the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state in accordance with international legitimacy and relevant Security Council resolutions.

The Ministry further highlighted the necessity of establishing a well-defined roadmap and a specific timeframe to achieve a two-state solution. According to the official statement, such a framework is essential for reinforcing regional security and stability. Oman maintains that transitioning the region toward a sustainable phase of peaceful coexistence, reconstruction, and economic prosperity remains the primary objective. By advocating for a structured political process, the Sultanate aims to ensure that the current peace initiatives lead to a lasting and just settlement for all parties involved.
