Muscat – The number of visitors to Jabal Akhdar in Dakhliyah increased to 222,151 in 2025, compared to 203,629 in 2024, reflecting a rise of 9.1%, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

Omani visitors accounted for 82,142 of the total. The number of Saudi visitors reached 14,957, while Emirati visitors stood at 1,588. Visitors from Kuwait totalled 1,441, followed by 699 from Bahrain and 779 from Qatar. The figures also showed that 9,902 visitors arrived from other Arab nationalities, while other foreign nationals formed the largest segment at 110,643.

Jabal Akhdar is regarded as one of the sultanate’s most prominent tourist destinations, owing to its moderate summer climate and cool winters. The presence of hotels, resorts and tourist lodges, along with the hosting of various events, has contributed to the steady growth in visitor numbers. The wilayat is also a major destination for eco-tourism and adventure tourism. Activities such as hiking in wadis, visiting caves and mountain climbing offer visitors opportunities to explore the natural environment and engage with local culture in the area’s villages, enhancing Jabal Akhdar’s appeal as a comprehensive tourism destination
