The Sultanate of Oman recorded total employment of 51,482 jobs in 2025, achieving 114 per cent of its annual employment and training target of 45,000 opportunities, according to the Ministry of Labour.
The ministry said the achievement reflects strong integration between government entities and the private sector in supporting the national employment system.
It explained that the outcome was driven by a range of qualitative programmes and initiatives, including job replacement schemes, training linked to employment, and efforts to enhance the skills and capabilities of jobseekers. Close cooperation with private sector establishments also played a key role in expanding sustainable employment opportunities.
First-time employment and replacement in the government sector reached 11,206 opportunities, exceeding the target of 10,000, while the private sector recorded 25,207 opportunities, surpassing its target of 24,000.
In the area of training and training coupled with employment, the public sector recorded 2,588 opportunities, compared with 12,481 in the private sector.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to further developing initiatives and projects aimed at improving the work environment and raising employment levels, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
