Muscat – Muscat is poised to usher in the New Year with the grand launch of “Muscat Nights 2026,” a comprehensive urban season scheduled to run from the beginning of January until the 31st of the month. This exceptional edition translates an integrated vision for a winter season that seamlessly intertwines entertainment, culture, sport, and economy, reinforcing Muscat’s position as a premier regional destination. The festivities are strategically distributed across several key landmarks, including Qurum Park, Amerat Park, the Oman Automobile Association, the Royal Opera House Muscat, and the scenic Seeb beach, ensuring a diverse urban experience for all visitors.

Central to this year’s narrative is the character “Siraj,” a symbolic child of light who traverses the city sky to embody the visual and storytelling essence of the season. In the heart of Qurum, a sophisticated symphony of fountains and light will transform the lake into an open-air theatre, merging artistry with advanced technology. Meanwhile, the Oman Automobile Association will host an international circus featuring acrobats and aerialists, notably incorporating hologram technology to create immersive 3D displays. For younger audiences, interactive educational zones will offer glimpses into the worlds of astronomy and space, alongside creative workshops designed to stimulate imagination.

The sky above Muscat will also be illuminated by synchronised drone shows depicting cultural symbols, while the Qurum Park hosts family-orientated adventures such as the “Masha and the Bear” interactive experience. The programme further extends into a robust sporting calendar, featuring international 3×3 basketball championships at Al Araimi Boulevard, cycling races, and beach volleyball at Sur Al Hadid. High-octane youth events, including professional drifting displays and zip-lining, are set to take place in Al Khoud.

Culturally, the season remains rooted in Omani heritage through the Heritage Village, which showcases traditional crafts and folk arts in a contemporary light. Innovation takes centre stage at Al Khuwair with “Oman Design Week,” a platform for sustainable urban art, while the Royal Opera House Muscat hosts a prestigious Fashion Week featuring global designers. Together, these multifaceted events create a vibrant, modern pulse that celebrates the identity and creative energy of the Sultanate.
