Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) will launch the eighth edition of Muscat Eat at the Oman Automobile Association in Seeb on December 4.
The festival will open with its first weekend from December 4 to 6, followed by a second installment from December 11 to 13. The annual event aims to showcase Oman’s rich cultural and heritage diversity through a vibrant line-up of culinary and entertainment experiences.
An official at MHT said, “This edition features a wide range of entertainment activities, theatrical performances and the participation of specialised institutions offering a variety of local and international cuisines. What sets the festival apart is its strong focus on supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the food, entertainment and local products sectors.”
The official added that the festival seeks to promote tourism by bringing together chefs to present both traditional Omani dishes and popular international favourites in a festive atmosphere. Visitors will be able to explore several dedicated zones, including a cooking and culture corner, an SME section, a food sustainability corner, and interactive workshops aimed at enhancing public awareness.
“The festival is strategically planned over two weekends to ensure maximum participation of SMEs. We encourage the public to take part and enjoy the experience,” the official said.
Omani cuisine, he said, has been recognised as a key tourism asset offering authentic and innovative experiences. The forum aims to strengthen food tourism and culinary arts, create diverse job opportunities, promote entrepreneurship and local content linked to supply chains, and spotlight Omani culinary traditions as a living expression of the nation’s culture and heritage.
