Muscat – The Ministry of Labour (MoL) on Sunday commenced a new round of personal interviews for jobseekers across all governorates, as part of the government’s ongoing drive to boost employment and strengthen Omanisation efforts. The interviews, held simultaneously at the ministry’s headquarters in Muscat and in Labour Directorates throughout the country, will run until January 1, 2026.
Abdullah bin Sultan al Sunaidi, Director of Recruitment and Omanisation in the Government Sector, said the ministry has invited 1,949 male and female jobseekers to attend interviews for 379 vacant positions in various government institutions. The shortlisted candidates represent a wide range of academic qualifications, reflecting the diversity of roles available in administrative, technical and specialised fields.
Sunaidi explained that conducting interviews across all governorates helps ensure equal access and reduces travel burdens on jobseekers, particularly in remote areas. The initiative also aligns with the ministry’s wider strategy to streamline recruitment processes and accelerate the placement of qualified national talent in the public sector.
He added that those who successfully pass the interview stage will be appointed directly to their respective government units, contributing to improved staffing levels and enhanced service delivery.
In recent years, the Ministry of Labour has intensified its efforts to create sustainable employment opportunities for Omani nationals through targeted recruitment campaigns, skills development programmes and partnerships with the private sector. The current round of interviews forms part of a broader plan to address labour market needs and support national economic growth.
